Oil Painters of America member Sarah Parks is now offering drawing classes to all levels of students in her studio at 344 Mill Stone Rd., Chesapeake (Hampton Roads) VA, 23322. Students will be evaluated and taught based on their skill level.
The focus of classes will include the fundamentals of drawing, (i.e., perspective, composition, value, masses, etc.). Students will draw from still-life and plein air compositions and are encouraged to bring in photographs of subject matter they are interested in drawing.
Classes are Tuesdays 6:00pm to 7:30 pm for six weeks beginning June 30.
Fee is $150 with payment due at first class meeting.
Supplies required: 11"x14" drawing pad, 18"x18" drawing board with clip, graphite pencils (HB, B, 2B, 4B, 6B), kneaded eraser, and vine charcoal sticks. For students who are evaluated as more advanced, they may be asked to also bring: conte crayons (red, white, and black or dark brown), and toned paper.
